Governor Oparanya meets Raila

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya on Friday, April 9, 2021 held a meeting with his party boss Raila Odinga at his home in Karen, Nairobi County. The Kakamega governor stated that their meeting was meant to discuss how to strengthen the ODM party ahead of the 2022 general election. Oparanya was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary for Devolution Eugene Wamalwa during his visit.

Talk of Hyenas waiting for the spoils after the hunt.  Without the courage of the handshake, Kenya would today be unstable and ungovernable, even for cowards who cower when the going gets tough. It is essential that we have a country of political hygiene that is fair and recognizes efforts by all. Raila Odinga is one of my competitors in my quest to be the next President. However, I have to respect him and give him his due and not try to use his efforts for self benefit as others are doing.  Leaders need to stop being opportunistic and using the poverty of their tribes as bargaining chips whereas their develop...

CRISIS MEETING IN STATEHOUSE

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta are expected to be hold up in a closed-door meeting today at the statehouse a day after a phone call over alleged fall out. During the meeting, the ODM leader will come face to face with his NASA counterpart and Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper democratic movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka. Also expected in the meeting are Former council of governors Chair Wickliffe Oparanya, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho. 

RAI CEMENT MANAGER FOUND DEAD

Rai Cement Limited’s General Manager, Chetan Vyas was found murdered in his home. killed by unknown men, who gained access to his Kipsitet house in Kericho County through the roof. After accessing Chetan’s bedroom, the three-man gang tied his hands and legs, and, thereafter, strangled him.  An unknown amount of money was stolen from the house. Police are looking for 3 men who may be involved in the murder. Robert Apiny reports.

KDF PASS OUT

President Kenyatta presides over the passing out parade of the Kenya Defence Forces recruits at Moi Barracks in Uasin Gishu. Over 3,000 soldiers are graduating today from the Recruits Training School.

Kenya Defence Soldier Found Dead

A Kenya Defence Forces soldier was on Sunday found dead in a bush under unclear circumstances at Hindi area in Lamu County. The said soldier, before his death, was spotted running by the roadside while taking off his KDF attire and boots. Confirming the incident, Hindi MCA Anab Hajj said the deceased hung his pants on a tree in the bush where his body was found. The body of the deceased has since been taken by his fellow KDF soldiers pending autopsy before it is transferred to his home for burial.
